Big views from a perfectly balanced climb.

Le Pouce may be smaller than Le Morne, but it offers one of the best panoramic views on the island. From the summit, you can see Port Louis, the central plateau, and much of northern Mauritius.

The Hike

The trail follows a steady path through forest and open terrain, gradually climbing toward the iconic thumb-shaped peak. The ascent is physically engaging without being extreme, making this hike accessible to most people with a reasonable fitness level.

At the Summit

At the top, the view is wide and unexpected, offering 360° panoramas across the island. It’s an ideal spot for photos and a well-earned break before descending. This hike delivers a rewarding mountain experience without the commitment of a full-day adventure.
